Wings Ranked 4th In A Prospect Pool

from Devin Little (admitted Detroit fan) of Sports Medai Pass,

The Red Wings’ rebuild remains steady as the team continues to accumulate picks and prospects. This ranking is subject to debate depending on one’s view of Zadina. The sixth overall pick in 2018 didn’t exactly light up the AHL last year, but he showed promise in the NHL. The talent is there, and many still see him as a potential top-line winger.

As a sniper, Zadina is heavily reliant upon having a good playmaker on his line. His lone goal in the NHL game from defender Filip Hronek teeing him up on the power-play. The next evolution in Zadina’s game needs to be the ability to create for himself. When you can create your own chances, you open space for your teammates. Also, you give your team options with the lineup as you don’t need that dedicated playmaker beside you.

Veleno looks more and more like an absolute steal at 30th overall in 2018. However, it’s the development of Seider that is key to Detroit’s long-term future.

more and the four other teams too...
