Struggling In Dallas

from Matthew DeFranks of the Dallas Morning News,

Jim Nill hears the calls for changes during the Stars’ 1-6-1 start to the season. That doesn’t mean the general manager will act on them.

“To say you’re going to make all these changes, people are thinking about trades or whatever, those things don’t happen overnight,” Nill said. “You just don’t go have a bad start to the year and go ‘OK, we’re going to trade four or five guys.’ That doesn’t happen in this business. We’ve got to figure this out internally first. We’ve got to see where we’re at with our team, and then you start to make adjustments from there.”

The Stars have lost four straight games, and enter Friday night’s game in Pittsburgh without a regulation win in the season’s first two weeks....

Does Nill feel pressure to make changes to the roster or the coaching staff?

“No, no,” Nill said. “This is something we’ve got to work out internally. We’ve been talking with the players, they know they’ve got to get better. I’ve been talking with the coaching staff, they’re pushing every button they can, and we’ve got to get through this.
