NEW YORK (Oct. 18, 2019) – Detroit Red Wings forward Darren Helm has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Calgary Flames forward Elias Lindholm during NHL Game No. 103 in Calgary on Thursday, Oct. 17, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 5:10 of the third period. Helm was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for slashing.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
