NHL Short Notes
* A hat trick from Chris Kreider and a multi-goal outing to help Alex Ovechkin climb another NHL all-time list intensified the 2021-22 Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy race as Kreider moved into a tie with Ovechkin for the most goals by any player this season.
* The Central Division-leading Avalanche (28-8-3, 59 points) earned their 17th win at Ball Arena in 2021-22 and became the eighth team in NHL history to post a home win streak of 15 or more games.
* An 11-game slate Saturday featured five teams secure a multi-goal comeback to win – matching the most in a single day in NHL history – while three teams scored seven-plus goals en route to victory.
* Ducks rookie Trevor Zegras announced Saturday that the League has invited him to be part of the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas. Zegras will take part in the Breakaway Challenge on Friday, Feb. 4.
