New Jersey Devils Celebrate Retro Night
On St. Patrick’s Day there will be green in folks beer and in the New Jersey Devils uniforms. Retro night makes its return to Prudential Center for the fifth time since 2010. Those sweaters were once the standard from 1982-83 to 1991-92, until the franchise shifted to the current red, white and black.
During those seasons, New Jersey posted a ledger of 285-422-93 and a mark of 19-21 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Hence, it wasn’t always easy wearing green but that doesn’t mean there weren’t more than a few players that wore it well.
- John MacLean – 1983-1992 (546 regular season games, 33 playoff games).
- Ken Daneyko – 1983-1992 (529 regular season games, 40 playoff games).
