Habs Sign Thomas On A One Year Contract
Left-winger Christian Thomas will be back with the Montreal Canadiens this season, as he as officially signed a one year, two-way contract with the organization worth $850K in the NHL and $70,875 in the AHL.
The 23 year old played 18 games with the Habs during the 2014-15 regular season, where he scored his first (and only) career goal in the NHL on February 12th against the Edmonton Oilers. He averaged 9:05 of ice time per game and also picked up seven penalty minutes.
Because it’s a two-way deal, Thomas will still have to go through waivers if the Habs want to send him down to the AHL. Although he didn’t produce many points during his time with the Habs, he did put up a great amount of shot attempts and scoring chances.
