NHL Closes Patrick Kane Investigation

The sexual assault investigation involving Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane is officially closed after the NHL announced on Wednesday that its independent investigation on the matter has come to an end.

In a statement from the league, it was stated that the allegations were “unfounded.” You can read the statement in full below courtesy of the NHL.

“The National Hockey League announced today that it has completed its independent review of the Patrick Kane matter, the final stage of which included an in-person meeting between Kane and Commissioner Gary Bettman in New York on Monday, March 7. Based on its review, including the determination made by the Erie County District Attorney not to pursue charges, the NHL has concluded that the allegations made against Kane were unfounded. The League considers the matter closed and will have no further comment.”

With the case considered closed, Kane and the Blackhawks can now solely focus on repeating as Stanley Cup Champions. The Blackhawks currently sit second in the Central Division, behind division-leading Dallas by just one point in the standings.
