Senators Ink Free Agent Tom Pyatt

Former 4th round draft pick Tom Pyatt is returning to the NHL. The Ottawa Senators announced Tuesday that they have come to terms on a one-year, two-way deal worth $800,000 in the NHL and $200,000 in the AHL.

“We’re very pleased that Tom has committed to our organization for next season,” said general manager Pierre Dorion. “He has already accumulated a significant amount of experience at both the American and National Hockey League levels and provides us with solid depth at forward. Having spent his last two seasons playing professionally in Switzerland, members of our coaching staff are familiar with his versatility. We’re looking forward to seeing him in training camp.”

Pyatt is a veteran of 245 NHL games, but has spent the last two seasons playing for Genève-Servette in the Swiss NLA. Incoming coaches Guy Boucher and Marc Crawford, have also recently spent time working in the NLA. Additionally, Pyatt spent time playing under Boucher during two of his three seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning before heading to Switzerland.

Pyatt was drafted by the Rangers back in 2005, and spent time playing with the Lightning and Montreal Canadiens.
