When news broke last Wednesday that our Montreal Canadiens had traded PK Subban to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber, the Rabid Habs crew, like every other Habs fan and non-Habs fan, quickly reacted. These reactions were immediately shot around in a series of e-mails between our contributors. So this week we decided to peel back the curtain and let you see just how our Rabid Habs team felt about the Subban trade in the minutes after it all went down.

Damon (@DTA23) – Never thought the day would come when the Habs could do something that would make me renounce my fandom. Well, Bergevin proved me wrong. I don’t even care if the trade is good or not, this is purely emotional. I can deal with a losing team, but don’t trade somebody who has done so much for this city.

Steph (@stephdarwish) – Bergevin lied to all of us. His press conference was just a giant charade. He treats the fan base like we are idiots and now he’s ruined the franchise. #fuckthehabs

Sean (@TheONeillFactor) – Fuck this team. I’m done.

Kyle (@kyleroussel) – I am livid right now. Livid. Both for how Bergevin lied to the fans, and how Molson signed off on this. This is a franchise-wrecking move. May as well trade Price while we’re at it. Gonna need the futures very soon for the rebuild.

Damon (@DTA23) – I hope he takes his money back from the Children’s Hospital and sticks Molson and Bergevin with the bill.

Patrick (@Al_Carl1n) – I keep refreshing Twitter hoping that Montreal is getting a couple of 1st rounders, but alas, it looks like this franchise just spit in the face of its fan base. Maybe there were truth to the rumours of backroom drama, but right now, at face value, this is one of the dumbest trades possible.

Pete (@PsaintLo) – There has got to be something we don’t know. Like Subban slept with the wives of every other player. I don’t get why he had to go. Why? WHY!?!?!?!?
