Blues Invite 4 More to Camp

In addition to giving Scott Gomez a professional tryout contract (PTO), the St. Louis Blues have given four other players a PTO to battle for a position on the team roster.

Spencer Asuchak, Eriah Hayes, Zach O’Brien and Evan Trupp will all be joining the team at camp to tryout for a spot with the team.

Back in February, the Allen Americans of the ECHL loaned Asuchak, a 23-year-old wing, to the Providence Bruins, where he posted two goals and four assists through 18 games after averaging over a point per game in the AHL.

Hayes has spent the last two seasons grabbing a few games with the Sharks in the NHL, while spending the majority of his time in the AHL. Last season he played four NHL games without posting a point. At the AHL level he scored eight goals and 17 assists through 59 games.

O’Brien, also a 23-year-old forward, spent all of last season playing for the Calder Cup Champion Manchester Monarchs, where he scored 14 goals and 18 assists through 62 regular season games, as well as three goals and six assists through 19 games on his way to lifting the Calder Cup.

Trupp is a soon-to-be 28-year-old forward who played his first full AHL season last year, posting 16 goals and 24 assists through 72 games for the Worcester Sharks. That followed on a big season for the Alaska Aces of the ECHL where he put up 17 goals and 33 assists through 51 games.
