Habs – Avalanche Pregame News and Notes
Montreal looks to string together home wins tonight, as the Colorado Avalanche make their only visit of the season to the Bell Centre. The Habs, fresh of a dominant 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils, face the Avalanche who come to town on the heels of a 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins.
The Canadiens lost both games to the Avalanche last season. The Avalanche are tied with the Arizona Coyotes for last place in the league, while the Habs hold the league’s top spot.
Roster Notes:
On Friday, the Canadiens announced the recall of forward Michael McCarron and defenseman Mark Barberio. Both players will be in the press box Saturday night, as there are no lineup changes.

Here’s what the lines will look like:
Pacioretty – Plekanec – Radulov
Byron – Mitchell – Gallagher
Lehkonen – Danault – Shaw
Carr – Flynn – Andrighetto
The blue line will remain the same as well:
Emelin – Weber
Markov – Petry
Beaulieu – Redmond
And here’s what the Avalanche will be icing up front:

To translate:
Bourque – MacKinnon – Iginla
Landeskog – Soderberg – Grigorenko
Duchene – Mitchell – Rantanen
Martinsen – Colborne – Comeau
Defensive pairings are unknown due to the morning skate yesterday being optional. Semyon Varlamov will sit and Calvin Pickard picks up his second consecutive start.
And net-crashers beware. A home game on a Saturday night can mean only one thing…
