Habs – Wild Pregame News and Notes
The Canadiens look to extend their winning streak to three games, as the red hot Minnesota Wild come to town. The Wild, winners of eight straight games, will play just their 18th game against the Canadiens all-time Thursday night. The Wild currently sit in second place in the Central Division with 42 points (19-8-4), while the Habs sit in first place in the Atlantic Division with 46 points (21-7-4).
The Canadiens will have their hands full with Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk, who leads the league in save percentage (.948), goals against average (1.55) and shutouts (5).

Michel Therrien had announced Price as the Canadiens’ starter after practice on Wednesday.
At Thursday’s morning skate, the Habs’ powerplay had a different look to it.

First, Brendan Gallagher, who centered the first powerplay unit against Anaheim, will not be a part of the man-advantage against Minnesota. Tomas Plekanec takes his spot on the first powerplay unit.
And finally, the Canadiens may need to make a call-up very soon. Alexei Emelin may be out of the lineup tonight, but for a happy occasion.

If Emelin is going to miss tonight’s game, expect a call-up to be made in the next few hours.
Game time is 7:30 EST.
