New Jersey Devils Top 10 Russian Players
Do svidaniya, Ilya. Dobro pozhalovat, Kovalchuk? News which perks ears among New Jersey Devils fans. Any team can use the talent possessed by Ilya Kovalchuk, especially a Devils team with 166 goals.
Kovalchuk isn’t the lone Russian to star in the Garden State. Below, a list of those red army players, whom suited up for the Devils army.
- Sergei Brylin – Brylin played all 13 seasons with the Devils. One of five Devils to win three Stanley Cup titles with the franchise. Tallied 129 markers for New Jersey and 15 more in the postseason.
- Viacheslav Fetisov – Fetisov is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. In six seasons with New Jersey, Fetisov registered 130 points and 410 penalty minutes.
- Alexander Mogilny – Mogilny was part of New Jersey’s 1999-00 Stanley Cup championship squad. Between two stints with the Devils, Mogilny potted 58 goals, including a 43-goal campaign in 2000-01. Mogilny also lit the lamp on nine occasions in the Playoffs.
- Ilya Kovalchuk – Kovalchuk starred parts of four seasons with New Jersey. Netted 89 goals, including a pair of 30 plus goal campaigns. Posted 25 points across 28 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
- Alexei Kasatonov -Kasatonov came along with Fetisov. Across four seasons with the Devils, Kasatonov recorded 119 points. Kasatonov also had two seasons with double digits in goals.
- Viktor Kozlov – A shootout wizard, Kozlov played just one season in New Jersey. In 69 games, Kozlov scored 12 goals.
- Vladimir Malakhov – The puck rushing defenceman Malakhov, was a member of New Jersey’s Stanley Cup title team in 1999-00. Malakhov registered five points across 23 postseason contests.
- Sergei Nemchinov – Yet another member of the 1999-00 Cup team, Nemchinov played parts of four seasons with New Jersey. A valuable role player, Nemchinov was a grinder and notched 70 points across 196 games in a Devils uniform.
- Alexander Semak – Semak played four seasons with New Jersey. In 1992-93, Semak posted 37 goals for the Devils.
- Valeri Zelepukin – Zelepukin played seven seasons with the Devils, amassing 85 goals and 218 points. In addition, Zelepukin tallied ten postseason goals for New Jersey and was a member of their 1994-95 Stanley Cup championship club.
