Né à Boston en septembre 1962, Cleon Nicholas Daskalakis débuta sa carrière universitaire avec les Terriers de Boston University en 1980-81. En tant que recrue, il ne participa qu'à 8 matchs, récoltant une fiche de 4 victoires contre 2 défaites.
