Buffalo Sabres Recall Tim Schaller From the Rochester Americans
Well, that was quite a game between the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens wasn’t it? The 2-1 final scoreline doesn’t even begin to justify a game that had it all.

How about a controversial head check that resulted in a minor brawl? Check!
What about a dramatic late winner by the Sabres as a result of the ensuing powerplay? No problem!

I’m not sure what’s going on in Buffalo right now, but four wins in five games suggests a team that’s actually trying to win. At this rate, they’ll play themselves right out of the “race” for Connor McDavid.
Buffalo Sabres Lose Drew Stafford to Injury
About the only bad news to come out of the Sabres 2-1 win over the Canadiens was the loss of Drew Stafford. The 29-year old left the game in the first period with a lower-body injury.
Even though Stafford made the trip to Montreal, the Sabres took the necessary precautions by calling up Tim Schaller from the Rochester Americans. This represents the center’s first career recall to the NHL.
Who is Tim Schaller?
Schaller was an undrafted free agent, who signed an entry-level contract with the Sabres in April 2013. The 24-year old has recorded 34 points in 97 games for the Americans, including the 2014 Calder Cup playoffs.
However, it’s this season that Schaller has really raised his game, with 15 points (six goals and nine assists) in 20 apperances. If he gets the opportunity to play tonight, here is a little bit of what the Sabres will be hoping to see from the Merrimack, New Hampshire native:
