Blackhawks Sign Forward Dennis Rasmussen, Plus Visentin, Ciampini
The Chicago Blackhawks have re-signed 25-year-old forward Dennis Rasmussen to a one-year, two-way deal.
Last season was the 6-foot-3 Swede’s first season in North American hockey. Rasmussen went undrafted and played in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) for the Växjö Lakers for three years prior to joining the Blackhawks organization. He spent last season playing for the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL, potting 13 goals and 14 assists through a team-leading 73 regular season games. He also got into a few preseason games for the Blackhawks, scoring one goal in three contests.
He played last season on a one-year entry-level deal worth the maximum $925K.

Rockford also signed forward Daniel Ciampini and goaltender Mark Visentin to one-year AHL deals.
Ciampini just finished his senior season at Union College, leading the team with 26 goals and 24 assists through 39 games. The 5-foot-11, 185 pound undrafted forward signed an amateur tryout (ATO) deal with the Worcester Sharks (AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks) at the end of last season, putting in three goals and three assists through 15 games there.
Visentin was one of a handful of players the Arizona Coyotes didn’t issue qualifying offers on. He’s a former first round draft pick (27th overall), who missed the entirety of last season due to injury. He has a lot of upside, but the Coyotes certainly felt a missed season of development may have hampered his potential. He enters a full cupboard of goaltenders in Chicago, even after they traded away Antti Raanta and Anders Nilsson.
