Sabres Re-Sign Jerry D’Amigo

The Buffalo Sabres signed their only remaining restricted free agent on Thursday when the team signed Jerry D’Amigo to a one-year, two-way contract.

The Sabres acquired D’Amigo in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets that sent Luke Adam to Columbus in December. Columbus traded for D’Amigo over the summer, grabbing him for a conditional pick from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

D’Amigo played nine games for the Sabres and didn’t register a point. He split the rest of the season between the Springfield Falcons on Rochester Americans in the AHL, playing 59 games over which he scored nine goals and 17 assists.

The prior season D’Amigohad a solid year with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL, playing 51 games and scoring 20 goals and 13 assists during the regular season. He also potted six goals and eight assists over 14 playoff games for the Marlies.

The 24-year-old forward has played 31 NHL games in his career with a single goal and two assists in his career.
