Ryan Stanton Joins the Caps
The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman Ryan Stanton to a one-year, two-way contract.
Stanton was signed out of the WHL as an undrafted free agent by the Chicago Blackhawks. He spent four seasons with the organization, making his NHL debut by playing a single game with Chicago in the 2012-13 campaign, his final year with the club.
He then moved to the Vancouver Canucks, where he’s spent the last two seasons. He got into 54 games last season, scoring three goals and eight assists to go along with 35 penalty minutes and a -5.2% CF%Rel.
The prior season he played 64 games for Canucks, scoring a single goal and 15 assists.
