Devils Sign Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond

The New Jersey Devils have signed Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced on Tuesday.

The Devils, deep into the post-Lamoriello era (read: the veil of secrecy has fallen), disclosed the terms of the contract themselves. The deal is worth the league-minimum $575,000 at the NHL level.

With this deal the 30-year-old Letourneau-Leblond, a veteran of 41 NHL games with no goals and three assists, makes the second stop of his career in Newark.

He most recently grabbed NHL action with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2013-14 season, playing a single game for the team. Prior to that he played three games for the Calgary Flames in the 2011-12 season and appeared in games for the Devils in three consecutive seasons prior to that, topping out at 27 games in the 2009-10 season with no goals and two assists.

According to, he’s been in 12 fights in his career (just under a fight every three games), in addition to an astounding 10 preseason NHL fights.
