Justin Hodgman Heads to SHL

After going through unconditional waivers with the St. Louis Blues organization and having his contract terminated by mutual agreement, 27-year-old forward Justin Hodgman is set to join Örebro in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the team announced.

Hodgman, who has bounced around the world since leaving the Erie Otters in juniors, moved back to North America last season when he signed a contract with the Arizona Coyotes following two years in the KHL, on the heels of one in the Finnish Liiga.

In his final KHL season he played for three teams, but managed to put up 11 goals and 26 points in 49 games.

Last season he found his way into just five games with the Coyotes, putting up a single goal. He did find some success in the AHL though, scoring 11 goals and 35 points in 64 games for the Portland Pirates.

In the summer he signed a contract with the Blues as a free agent. But he struggled to produce in the AHL, posting just six points with no goals for the Chicago Wolves.
