Miikka Salomaki Gets 2-Year Deal

The Nashville Predators have re-signed winger Miikka Salomaki to a two-year contract carrying an AAV of $612,500, the team announced Tuesday. That’s a slight reduction from his current cap hit of $780,833 in the final year of his entry-level contract.

The 22-year-old made his NHL debut in 2014-15 and has played 45 games for the Preds this season, posting four goals and seven points while spending most of his time taking some pretty tough zone starts (-29% ZSO%Rel) on the wing of Paul Gaustad.

He was a 2nd round draft pick for Nashville in 2011 and has had some offensive success in the AHL so far in his career. He put up seven goals and 18 points in 38 games for the Milwaukee Admirals last year. His rookie year was even better, scoring 20 goals and 50 points in 75 contests.

With a dCorsi Impact of 36.34 this season, this could be a good depth signing for the Predators that costs very little against the cap.
