NHL 17 Control The Ice Trailer

With the release of NHL 17 just two months away, EA Sports has released the latest gameplay trailer for the title.

The “Control The Ice” trailer takes a look at new net-front battles, goaltending animations, skater acceleration and player positioning, among other features. You can even check out some of the new celebrations that the developers have added as well.

One new addition that really stands out is the shrug save that goaltenders now make. Saves look more realistic than ever rather than goaltenders looking like fish out of water. It would be nice if accurate goalie masks were included for every incumbent NHL netminder, but that involves too many licensing issues. Nevertheless, NHL 17 is shaping up to be one of the better games in quite some time for the franchise.

After all, the new celebrations look pretty cool. How about that moonwalk from Steven Stamkos?

NHL 17 releases on September 13 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. For more information about the game, stick with The Hockey Writers. And be sure to let us know what stood out to you the most in the latest trailer by leaving your comments below.
