WebSim Hockey New Features : Players contracts!

A player with a Type 3 contract is in his last contract year and you want to try to renew his contract during the regular season? It's now possible!

Offers to free agents during the preseason and regular season

From now on, it is possible to offer a new contract to your team's players who are in the last year of their type 3 contract.

Will the player sign during the season? Or, will he inform you that he wants to test the free agent market?

By knowing the intentions of your players, you will be able to make the right decisions, whether it is trading a player who doesn't want to re-sign with your team, or consolidating your team by signing new contracts.

To know all the details, visit the page GM Office > Contracts > Players, at the Type 3 tab.

Adjustment to the maximum salary offered to a player

The maximum salary offered to a player is now linked to a percentage of the league's salary cap, rather than the previously fixed amount of $9M.

This new feature is customizable via the R1.1 rule and allows you to choose between 15% and 20% of the salary cap.

Maximum amount to spend when we send contract offers

You have $10M available to spend on one or several players? You can now set a maximum amount to spend for all your offers, but also by position.

For example, you could choose to spend a maximum of $10M, with a $4M limit for a defenseman.

This new option gives you all the freedom required to maximize your contract offers to your free agents.

Adjustment of the salary cap variation between seasons

The salary cap is automatically adjusted from season to season to ensure that it always remains logical with the amounts spent in the league.

However, you can now change the value of the proposed cap with more leeway, that is 1% to 6% higher than the proposed cap, instead of the previous value of -2% to +3%.

Salary demands of the players on the rise

To reduce the gap between the offers made to your free agents from those made to unrestricted free agents, the salary demands of the players without a contract will be 24% higher than the previous demands of the agent.

This measure will result in decreasing the spending capacity of teams once on the unrestricted free agent market (Type 3 open to everyone) and so, creating a more competitive and realistic market than in the past.

Other new features coming soon

Several new features will be developed in the coming weeks and months, including notifications on mobile devices, the improved management of teams under temporary control, and the team search in general.

And this fall, expect a major announcement for WebSim Hockey!
